Tau Scientific Instruments LLC - terms and conditions and limited product warranty
Limited Warranty
Thank you for your interest in the products and services of Tau Scientific Instruments LLC (Tau). This Limited Warranty applies to physical goods, and only to physical goods, purchased directly from Tau ("Physical Goods").
What does this limited warranty cover?
This Limited Warranty covers any defects in material or workmanship under normal use during the Warranty Period.
What will we do to correct problems?
During the Warranty Period, Tau will, at its discretion, repair or replace, at no charge, products or parts of a product that prove defective because of improper material or workmanship, under normal use and maintenance, using new or refurbished replacement parts. Tau will, at its sole discretion, select the most economical shipping method available for the return and replacement of all defective products or parts of a product. If an expedited shipping method is requested by the customer, the customer shall reimburse Tau for the difference in cost between expedited and economy shipping.
How long does the coverage last?
The Warranty Period for Physical Goods purchased from Tau is 6 months from the date of delivery. A replacement Physical Good or part assumes the remaining warranty of the original Physical Good or 3 months from the date of replacement or repair, whichever is longer.
What does this limited warranty not cover?
This Limited Warranty does not cover any problem that is caused by conditions, malfunctions or damage not resulting from defects in materials or workmanship. This warranty also does not cover problems or damages that are caused by improper use or unauthorized modification of the product, as described in media and/or documentation that accompany our products. This warranty also does not cover any problems or damage due to normal wear and tear of the devices or their accessories, including wire loops. Depending on how heavily they are used, wire loops will eventually break and need to be replaced, and the storage capacity of the batteries will decrease over time.
Warranty disclaimer
No warranty or affirmation of fact, express or implied, other than as set forth in this limited warranty, is made or authorized by Tau. Tau expressly disclaims any liability arising out of product misuse, misrepair, or misapplication. Tau expressly disclaims any warranty that the products are merchantable, fit for a particular purpose, or do not and will not infringe upon others intellectual property rights.
Limitation of Liability
Tau expressly disclaims any liability for consequential, incidental, special, exemplary, or punitive damages. In all circumstances, Tau’s liability is limited to, and shall not exceed, the purchase price paid for the product that gives rise to any liability.
Consumer protection statement
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.

Severability
If any portion of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the invalid or unenforceable term shall be severed from these terms and conditions, and the remaining terms and conditions shall be valid and fully enforceable as written.
Complete agreement
The terms and conditions herein constitute the entire and exclusive agreement between you and Tau with respect to the subject matter hereof, and supersede any conflicting terms contained in any purchase order, request for quotation, or other document submitted by the buyer.
